  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

  • Heat a large frying pan or cast-iron skillet to medium-high. I use a cast iron for mine.
  • Slice your kiellbasa sausage and dice your onions, add them to the hot pan.
  • Sautee for ten minutes or until onions are transparent. Turn heat down to medium.
  • Drain your black-eyed peas and rinse off any gravy. Add to pan and sautee for 2-3 minutes with onions and sausage.
  • Add canned tomatoes and seasonings to cast-iron skillet and give a good stir.
  • Slowly add your chicken broth mixture to your liking. Let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

You can use any type of cooked meat that you like. I just so happen to have kielbasa sausage on hand, which turned out amazing.
