I always seem to get earaches in the summer from swimming, and in winter from the cold air. I have a few home remedies that will help you with the pain.

Mullein Garlic Pure Ear Oil

This is kid-friendly, works within 6 hours, and is the only earache medication I do buy. Follow the directions, add a cotton ball, and you are DONE! You can add this medication to your achy ear up to 4 times a day. You will smell like garlic.

Garlic

Heat 2-3 cloves of garlic on the stove with olive oil for 5 minutes. Remove garlic and use a cotton ball to get some juice, squeeze off excess, and put in the ear. Use this oil 3-4 times a day for the best results.

Onion

Onions can help fight pain like garlic. Heat 2 slices of onion on the stove with olive oil for 5 minutes. Remove the onion and use a cotton ball to get some juice. Squeeze out excess juice and place a cotton ball in your ear. Use this oil 3-4 times a day for the best results.

Over The Counter Medicine

Get some OTC medicine to help alleviate ear pain when the pain comes. Aleve, Ibuprofen, and Tylenol are all great. Make sure to use them interchangeably, so you get the most benefit.

Hydrogen Peroxide

This is great to use for clogged ears and swimmers’ ear. Just add 3 drops of hydrogen peroxide to your ear, let it fizz, and turn your head to drain. Make sure to have a towel; debris will come out.

Hot and Cold Compresses

These compresses are helpful for many ailments. Just make sure to use for 20 minutes at a time. Cold compresses can be made with ice in a Ziplock bag. Hot compresses can be made with hot washcloths. Make sure to put a towel over the compresses. Never apply directly to the skin; you may get hurt.
