Mother’s Day is a special day for moms all around the world and sometimes it gets hard trying to plan the best day for your special lady. All moms are unique in their own way. Here are a few ideas that may help you in planning your special Mother’s Day adventure.

Let Her Sleep In

Let’s face it, moms are tired. Let her start her day sleeping in.

Breakfast In Bed

What better way to wake up than having breakfast in bed. You can be simple with oatmeal or go all out and make her favorites. Try a few recipes here.

Cooking Her Favorite Meal

It’s one thing to cook for her, but it is another to make her favorite meal. On Mother’s Day go all out and make her favorite recipes and have a special Mother’s Day, just for her. Check out a few recipes here.

Home Movie Night

For the movie lover, throw her a home movie night. Order a movie, cook up some movie night goodies, and enjoy it. It’s so easy and you get to enjoy a new movie and each other’s company. You can make it a family night and have several movies to choose from. Just make sure you bring the popcorn.

For the moms who love camping, plan a day camping trip. From personal experience, it allows me to spend quality time with family, and I get to be away from home. This is a pleasant surprise and she will be thankful for it.

Make a Memory Book

For the scrapbook lover, make a memory book. You don’t have to finish it. You can start it with your favorite memories and give it to her for her to finish. You can also make a memory book for you to do together. It is sentimental and she will cherish it with her heart.

For the art and history lover, take her to a museum and let her soak up as much creative art and history as she can. It will be an amazing experience and a great escape from her busy day-to-day schedule. Make sure to check your local listings.

For the flower and romantic lover, botanical gardens are a must. She will be enveloped with all different species of plants and scents. It will make the most avid flower lover feel as if they are in paradise. Make sure to check local listings for times and if you need to make reservations.

Give Her “Me” Time

Giving her even an hour to do nothing means everything. Sometimes we forget that moms are so busy taking care of everyone, that it seems moms don’t have time for themselves. If you can, make time to give her “me” time. She will be so grateful.

Home Spa Day

Plan a special spa day with her from doing a facial to massaging the toes. It doesn’t take a lot to do a spa day, she will be thankful that she is catered to, and her toes will thank you too. Don’t forget the cucumbers for the eyes.

Write a personal letter

Mother’s Day cards are so amazing, but what about a handwritten letter. It is personal and it definitely comes from the heart. You can write as much or as little as you want. It is the fact you took the time to write something that means the world to her.

Park TRIP

Plan a trip to the park for some rest and relaxation. Make sure to pack a cooler and head to the park. Pack a variety of goodies, and just enjoy the day.

Day Trip

Plan a trip for a day to a place maybe an hour away. You could go to the beach, a lake, the mountains, anywhere that gives her a change of scenery. She will be so excited to get away, even if it’s just for the day.

Below I have a few ideas that can be helpful to plan your day.

Mother’s Day Example #1

  • Clean house day/night before.
  • Let her sleep in while cooking her breakfast in bed.
  • Take a drive to a park out of town and enjoy the new scenery
  • Come home and finish the day with a movie night

Mother’s Day Example #2

  • Let her sleep in waking up to a personal letter
  • Give her “me” time
  • Clean for her and cook her favorite meal

Important: Whatever you choose to do, make Mother’s Day a special one.
