My Birthday: A Month of Surprises

Are you a fan of birthdays? Everyone loves a reason to celebrate, and September 7 was a day of festivities for me! I had the incredible opportunity to spend my special day with friends and family, share cake and presents, and participate in various activities that lasted throughout the month.

Natlie and I went on a late-night date for my birthday at a nice little place called Cru.

Cru is more than just a restaurant—it’s a leisurely escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. At Cru, guests can try their hand at an array of hookah flavors, craft cocktails, and amazing food.

This is at 10:30 pm. When I tell you it got so crowded, I’m glad we had reservations.

The best part for me is that I actually have a family friend who works there, so I got the best of both worlds that night: amazing food and great company.

It was the first time I ever tried a hookah.

Natlie got us a hookah while we got comfortable. Yall, it is safe to say, that I don’t like doing any hookah. I don’t know if I was doing it right. All I knew was I would inhale, and I thought my chest was on fire. Then I think I choked on the air, but I don’t know if it was air or water vapor because my mouth felt like it was foggy.. not smoky. But that didn’t matter because I was choking so badly, I just decided to act like I was smoking. Well, that didn’t go well because you can see the bubbles in the vase thingy; now Natlie is talking about PULL HARDER. I’m trying to show myself I can do this. Well, clearly I couldn’t because somewhere between proving to myself I can do this, my mouth and throat said you lying… I choked so badly that I gave up my hookah experience right then. But I can at least mark this off my bucket list!

When it came to the drinks, I can’t really drink like that, but Natlie can, and I ordered her all kinds of stuff. She tried a Georgia Peach, Liquid Hemp, and Lovin the Cru. Before I knew it, Cru was literally jumping off the walls. It seemed everyone had a September 7 birthday. People were everywhere, and the music was blasting, drinks were flowing, people were dancing, hookahs were everywhere… I had a good time.

I didn’t get this bottle service, but look at how pretty it is. I noticed groups of 6 or more got this bottle, so I assume you’re going to be pretty faded when you leave. The way my kidney setup… I don’t need that type of drama in my life.

I was able to get a few videos of people having a great time. Due to alcohol, hookah smoking, and music, please watch at your own risk. We do not own the rights to this music!

The videos are just people having a good time, but it is a hookah lounge, and I don’t want to offend anyone.

The next day was September 8, and I was greeted with another amazing surprise. The family threw me a surprise birthday party. Yes, they did!

We had chicken alfredo, garden salad, and bruschetta. I was so freaking happy. We had a Barbie Party, and we watched movies, and they sang and danced for me. I didn’t get a lot of pictures. I was so busy laughing and having a good time, that I forgot. But I did get a few.

From there, Natlie came to me the following week with another surprise. She updated our wedding rings.

She said that she had been waiting to give me this, she wanted it to be special, but after I got hacked, and was dealing with my medication… she wanted to give me time. What am I supposed to say to something like that? The only thing I could say… I Love You!

Then we went to our favorite Italian restaurant, Capriccio’s.  I have a love affair with their garden salads, ranch, and fried calamari. Well, we go there so often that they know us when we come in. Same two tables, love the atmosphere. Look at what they surprised me with.

The last of an amazing journey was on September 28. I was minding my business trying to make my blog work, I was having some issues. Natlie and the girls ran to the store to get some household items. The next thing I know, Natlie tells me to stay downstairs. Mind you, I wasn’t even thinking about moving from the computer, but ok.  Twenty minutes later, she told me she needed to show me something.

Yall, she planned an indoor picnic. I cut that laptop off, shut down everything, took my shower, and was ready in 20 minutes. I love stuff like this. We binge-watched a series on PrimeVideo called Soldiers or Zombies and enjoyed ourselves.

We had sushi, salads, sandwiches, banana pudding, chips, and candy. She even upped the ante and had sparkling cider.

We had so many leftovers; the kids were in hog heaven. I kept the salads for myself. Ok… I know I talked your head off, but I wanted to share my birthday experience with you and share some of my goodies. As always sending the Biggest Hugs and Warmest Smiles.
