The Month Is April, But There Is No Fools

Hey yall, I know it has been a week since I last checked in and talked to yall. A lot has happened, but if you are not too busy, would you like to go out to dinner with me?

Do yall like Asian cuisine? I hope so.

What’s been going on? How was yall April Fool’s Day? I didn’t play any games that day. Madison and Mackenzie had April Fool’s jokes played on them. I feel like 2023 is a year that isn’t for play. It seems like everybody is tired and wishing a MF would.

Speaking of tired, how are yall really holding up? Be honest. Are yall taking care of yourselves? Are you eating right and getting sunshine? Do you take a multivitamin? If you don’t, you need to start!

Natlie and anxiety

Last week, I told yall she had been diagnosed with anxiety. It has been a little rough for her, but she is doing much better. For the first time in months, she is sleeping through the night, finally holding down food, and starting to smile… I have been keeping her so busy and outside that she doesn’t have time to think.

See, her anxiety is work-related, but I don’t make it easy for her.  With my health ailments, before Covid, it was already difficult to do things because I have heat and cold intolerances. Now, with Covid and my medicines, it is hard for me to be around people. Well, she works with people, and she thinks when someone coughs or sneezes, she will get sick, then I’m going to get sick.

I have been doing some reading on anxiety and ways to be a better support system for her. The girls and I have been keeping things light and fun, so it is a calm environment. I lay with her when she rests, so she knows she isn’t alone. But, I make sure to get up so when she wakes up, I’m not there.

We are working on her fears. I am showing her I’m not going to get sick just because I go outside. I have been taking her on little trips around town and just walking with her. The weather is nice right now, so I don’t have to worry about any heat or cold intolerance. I have her working in the yard with me, and we even grilled out over the weekend. A much need treat for everyone. We even lit the firepit and just enjoyed each other’s company. Yall, I got on the karaoke machine, singing loud and wrong!

She is working her muscles.

She had to save a baby bunny! He found freedom.

I had her get the fire ready!

We have been having REAL CONVERSATIONS about our fears, goals, and expectations. I let her talk, but I make sure I talk just enough to keep her talking. It’s more room out than in, and Natlie has been holding a lot of things in. We have started praying together and working on strengthening what we have. Sometimes when things get hectic and chaotic in life, we forget what’s really important. For us, it is FAMILY. Family isn’t always where you come from; it’s what and who you make it with.

Ivey (that’s me)

What have I been up to? Well, since you asked, let me tell you.

I don’t know if you remember, but I was on a weight loss journey. Well, it didn’t go so well. I didn’t lose any weight, but I did tone up. I am still on my weight loss journey, but taking it easy. I can’t exercise like I was doing, but I’m still eating healthy. I won’t lie; I share pizza slices and tacos with Natlie. I am not ashamed.

Natlie and I are working out together. She makes me stop after 30 minutes, and although I hate I have to stop, I appreciate her being here for me. I’m starting to feel better, and I now know I was exercising too much.

Oh, guess what? I have some new recipes I have been working on, and I am so excited to share them with you. I don’t want to tell you; I want you to be surprised.

I have to get going, but as always, I am sending the Biggest Hugs and Warmest Smiles.
