Hey yall, our school year started August 28, 2023. Before I start, I wanted to bring us some goodies while I talked. You all know I get long-winded when I start talking…

As parents, we all want to help our children start off on the right foot, but as any parent knows, this can often be easier said than done. From the range of emotions from trepidation to anticipation, my family is eager to see what lies ahead in the upcoming school year, but let me tell you how it started.
The First Day of School
For most of you, I bet yall had to pry your children from their beds on the first day of school. Well, for me, I didn’t have to do that. I found out at 4:00 a.m. that Mackenzie was already dancing around the house at 2:00 a.m. Madison had taken her shower around 3:30 a.m., and I heard the shower going at 4:00 a.m. because Phatty(Mackenzie) was so excited/nervous about school that she couldn’t sleep, so she just took her shower early.
Both of my children couldn’t eat breakfast, and they refused to sit down. Luckily, I already packed them lunch, so I knew they would eat something during the day, and for the first time, I didn’t take them to the bus stop. I have to let them be a little bit more independent. Plus, they have walking buddies, and it is a group of kids at the bus stop, and the majority have phones, and there is a school bus app.
Madison
Madison has been getting her driver’s permit since last year. Well, it’s a process. She had to take the written test, which was done around Christmas time. Then, you have to get on the list for the eye exam; she finally did that on July 31, 2023! After much anticipation, she will start her driving course on September 18, 2023.

Guess what happened next? She had to get shots for school. Well, let’s say that didn’t go so well. She almost passed out in the doctor’s office.
I was in the waiting room, and all I knew was I looked up, and she was looking funny, I told the nurse something was wrong; he touched her, and she was damp and clammy. He called another nurse, I was standing in the hallway part by this time, and I started texting Natlie and taking photos. I told her this wasn’t a game, I think Madison was terrified of needles, to find out she NEVER ate that day.

But I have some amazing news!
Madison has gotten a part in the school play. Yes, she did!! Her name is Liz, and it has something to do with a lockdown at school! I can’t tell you too much about it, not because I was sworn to secrecy, I really don’t know much about it! But, when I do yall know I’m gonna tell you.

Mackenzie
Phatty has had an eventful school year. A lot of her friends have been transferred to a new elementary school, and she has to learn to make new friends. Well, Mackenzie is really spunky; she is the life of the party, but she is also shy!
She is learning to be more open to people, and just learning to put her best foot forward. She has a few friends at the bus stop, and she is making some friends in school, so much so that they got in trouble for talking too loud during lunch. Deep down, I feel Mackenzie was the ring leader, but I’m not going to say anything.
She hasn’t been photo-friendly lately! Since a few of her social media got hacked and deleted, she said she was going to take a break from photos… but if I can steal a picture, I WILL!! Mackenzie has grown so much since the last time yall saw her. Did you all know she is almost as tall as Natlie and wears a size eight women’s shoe? She is the upcoming Jolly Green Giant!
Ok yall, I’m not going to hold yall up. As always Big Hugs and Warmest Smiles.
