Hey yall, how yall doing? I want to say thank you for all the encouragement on Week 1. My weight loss journey has motivated me to keep pushing and moving forward in many ways.
I won’t keep yall waiting; here are the weekly results.

I pushed hard this week and reached my goal of losing 2 lbs.

I have increased my walking and exercise. I try to aim for at least 3 miles a day. Look at those 10,000 steps twice this week. Yes, I did.
Do you want to know my secret? Movies!!! Find a movie you want to watch, exercise most of the movie, and you will get your steps in. I don’t usually watch television, but it helps me not focus on the burn in my tummy or the fatigue that sets in.
Here are my weekly photos:
I want my clothes to show my body and its curves, every nook and cranny! I don’t hold my stomach in either, I want you to see me as I am. Like my mama always said, if a person can’t accept you at your worse, they don’t deserve you at your best!
Weekly Summary
This week was a little different for me. I took a long hard look in the mirror and talked with myself. What am I doing this for? What am I aiming for? How do I plan to achieve my goals? Are they realistic? Will I be happy by the end of this journey? How will I keep this lifestyle going?
I am a work in progress, but I will tell you, I’m doing this to live! I don’t want to succumb to my illnesses. Just because I have thyroid and kidney issues… doesn’t give me a reason to feel sorry for myself. It doesn’t give me a right to say I can’t do this when I know I can.
I want to be a better me. How can I be better if I don’t love my body? So, I love my body inside and out.
Dietary Changes
Breakfast – oatmeal, yogurt, or smoothie
Lunch – tuna and veggies, salad, tacos with salsa, veggie wraps, baked chicken, cucumbers, and tomatoes
Dinner – frozen fruit, salads, roasted veggies, watermelon, apples, baked chicken, roasted potatoes
WATER – WATER – WATER -WATER- WATER – WATER
Twice this week, I had fast food! Mcdonald’s and Taco Bell.
- McDonald’s – Natlie and I shared a Quarter Pounder Meal with a 10-piece nugget.
- Taco Bell – Natlie and I shared the 2 Chalupas taco meal and Mexican pizza.
For the first time, I didn’t feel guilty. I enjoyed my meal, and I went about my day.
New Goals
For the coming week, I want to continue to lose between 1 and 2 lbs.
I have come to terms with my weight loss and know if I didn’t gain it overnight, I can’t lose it overnight. I know I have to be honest with my weight loss so I don’t become discouraged. I know I have thyroid issues and can’t do what others do. I know my weight is harder to come off, and that’s ok. I have to keep pushing and trying.
I know I have kidney issues and certain foods and specific activities I can’t do, but that doesn’t mean giving up. It just means I have to find another way to reach my goals. The only thing stopping me from reaching my goals is ONLY ME.
Ok yall, I’m done with my self-motivation! As always, Big Hugs and Warm Smiles!
